Actavis, the International generic pharmaceutical company, has begun marketing the generic of Levofloxacin (Levoxa) on the Maltese market, taking the total portfolio of products to thirty-nine. This is the first new product that Actavis has launched this year and the portfolio is set to increase further in 2009, confirming Actavis as the leading generic pharmaceutical company in Malta.

Levoxa contains Levofloxacin which is a broad spectrum fluoroquinolone anti-infective agent. It is available in 500mg strength; in packs of 5 tablets. Levoxa 500mg is used in the treatment of acute sinusitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis, chronic bacterial prostatitis and skin and soft tissue infections.
