Actavis L-Histasin

Actavis, the international generic pharmaceutical company, announces the launch of L-Histasin (Levocetirizine) on the local market. L-Histasin is the first generic of the molecule Levocetirizine. L-Histasin is the 3rd new launch for Actavis this year and the local portfolio is set to continue to increase further in the coming months.

L-Histasin is available as 5mg tablets and each blister pack contains 21 tablets. It is used in the treatment of seasonal and perennial rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria. The recommended dosage for children aged 6 years and over and adults is 1 film-coated tablet (5mg) daily.

The active ingredient of L-Histasin, Levocetirizine dihydrochloride, is an antihistamine for systemic use. Levocetirizine, the (R) enantiomer of cetirizine, is a potent and selective antagonist of peripheral H1-receptors.
