The Malta facility employs over 600 highly talented employees and has become a key contributor to the success of the Actavis group.

The facility in Zejtun has undergone a radical transformation since its acquisition back in 2001. The group’s strategy has been to develop the Malta facility into a manufacturing platform within a highly regulated European market, as well as establishing the facility as a key launch site for new product introduction.

This strategy has been supported by the setting up of a local R&D organisation, which has the responsibility of developing dossiers for new products and ensuring a first- to- market strategy. This approach has shown to be successful when considering the significant increase in manufacturing activity experienced over the last 5 years and the number of successful new product launches achieved from the Malta facility. In Malta, the Group has also developed a Regional Sales & Marketing organisation, which is responsible for a broad geographical area comprising of Malta, Cyprus, Israel and Africa.

The local facility’s key focus is to ensure that it remains cost competitive on an international market where competition is very aggressive, whilst at the same time ensuring the very high quality levels associated with the Actavis brand. Customer satisfaction represents a key business driver for Actavis Ltd. thus providing its clients with an optimal service level.
